Impossible To Screw Up

fearing a wrong choice
she stared at her options, but…
with beer it’s all good

Written by Captain Hops.

References: Beer is still democracy’s drink. Don’t get bent out of shape because you’re worried some beer snob will criticize what you bring or serve at a party. Even though there is a lot more variety of styles, flavor, brands, and quality of beer out there now, there is no need to fret over what you buy. Get what you like, get what you can afford, get what your dad used to drink, get the one you’ve never tried, get the one with the cool label. Every beer drinker I know, snob or not, will cheerfully drink any beer you put in front of them. It ain’t an exclusive club after all. It’s beer.

Max’s 72 Hours of Belgian Beer

it’s overwhelming
with so many fine choices
can there be too much

Max's Belgian Beer Fest

Written by Captain Hops.

References: I made it to the 4th Annual Belgian Beer Fest at Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point. Wow! Just wow! Look at this beer list. How do you choose? For practical reasons, I simply let the bartender be my guide. I ended up sampling 10 different ales and was blown away by the quality and variety of styles. I didn’t get to spend nearly as much time there as I wanted, but believe me I will be going back again next year. Next year I will do a little more research ahead of time.

A frontal lobotomy?

I would rather have
a bottle in front of me,
if given the choice

Contributed by Captain Hops.

References: The quote this haiku is based on has been attributed to Tom Waits, a song with lyrics by Randy Hanzlick, and a bathroom wall. Regardless of who said it first, I have always liked it.
