Green Peppercorn Tripel

Fresh briny oysters
And Green Peppercorn Tripel
Transcends earth and sea

Written by Captain Hops.

References: I finally got my hands on one of the new 750ml bottles of Green Peppercorn Tripel from the Brewer’s Art. They recently partnered with Sly Fox to brew, bottle and sell limited releases of their popular brews at retailers in MD and DC.

I had just opened the bottle and poured some in a tulip glass, when my brother appears at my door with a bag of fresh oysters. Really fresh oysters. He had just learned how to shuck them from a video on YouTube and wanted to show off his new found talent. How fortuitous.

At the risk of hyperbole, let me just say it was like I had never eaten an oyster before. Earthy, sweet, plump morsels, bathing in their natural briny bath. Follow that up with the other worldly, effervescent, balanced sweetness and ephemeral spicy tripel. Wow! It’s like they were made for each other. What a serendipitous treat. Thanks, Bro.

  1. I just happened to sample one of those this week. Someone brought a bottle to our homebrewers club meeting.

From the name I was expecting it to have much more bite. It was interesting.
