What is The Session?

The Session is a group writing project that was conceived by Stan Hieronymus of Appellation Beer and Brew Like a Monk fame.

The concept is simple. On the first Friday of each month, bloggers the world over write about the same beer related theme. The host compiles a list of links to all the contributions - usually with witty commentary. Beer enthusiasts read all the entries and are educated, enriched and entertained. Comments and discussions proliferate. Lifelong friendships are formed. The world becomes a better place. A month later, we do it all again.

Volunteer to Host The Session

Do you own a beer related blog and want to host a Session? The responsibilities of the host are as follows:

1. Reserve Your Month - Please contact Stan Hieronymus of Appellation Beer. He has a “Contact” link at the top of his site.
2. Choose a Beer Related Theme - See above for examples of previously chosen themes
3. Announce Your Theme - This should happen soon after the roundup of the previous Session
4. Remind People - Do this about a week before your big day. Come on we’re beer bloggers, we forget sometimes.
5. Post Your Entry - Who says the host never has any fun?
6. Post a Roundup - Some hosts run updates all day. Some hosts wait until the end before posting their roundup. It helps to end the round up by naming the next host.
