I Know Why the Bailout Failed

We’re Americans. We work hard. We play hard. We do our best to support our families and communities.

We believe that hard work and innovation should be rewarded and that we all have a chance to make the big time based on our merit.

We get downright testy when people push to the front of the line, defraud old ladies, and use undue influence to rewrite common sense rules of doing business so they can make off with obscene paychecks.

We get darn angry when those same folks continue to go on reckless drunken benders and then shrug when the bar tab comes.

That’s what happened here. People that should know better recklessly built a house of cards with the heart of our economy. They did this out of pure greed. Our politicians let them.

Now it’s time to pay the fiddler and the people that walked away with millions (and hundreds of millions) want the American Taxpayer to pony up and pay for their mess. They say it’s the only way to keep their mess from destroying Main Street.

Do they say this in a repentant manner? Do they apologize for their mistakes? Do they take any responsibility for the problems? Do they even act a little ashamed? No. They demand a bailout. The arrogantly act like they are entitled to a bailout. They use fear and intimidation. They belittle those that question the need or method for a bailout. And the political leadership agrees.

We The People, do not agree. We think the creators of this mess should be punished. We think that a better solution can be found. We think that we are entitled to a little discourse on the topic.

It may very well be that a huge bail out is necessary. It may be. But I am not yet convinced. I will not be forced into writing a blank check with nothing in return.

If the financial mucky mucks that created this mess want a bailout, they need to act sorry. They need to get down on their hands and knees and beg. They need to pawn their yachts and mansions and put their ill gotten gains on the line. They need to admit responsibility and understand that if we write a check to save the world as we know it that we want something for our money. We will have heads on stakes. We will regulate sensibly in the aftermath.

If We The People decide to save their tails, they need to know that we own them. That they answer to us.

Together, we can make it happen.

Choose Beer!

Beer Can Bring America Together

When you look at the divisive, vitriolic, partisan politics in Washington today, you cannot doubt that it is time for a change.

We need to bring people together, not tear them apart.

We need to look for areas of agreement, not draw battle lines over differences of opinion.

We need to mellow out and give everyone a chance to get their share of the beer nuts.

It’s time for Beer!

The country is heading in the wrong direction. Government and corporations are picking our pockets so they can enjoy their three martini lifestyles. When it’s time to pay the fiddler, they simply take more from the average Joe. This can’t go on. It’s time to take a stand.

Send the message to our leaders that America is ready to sit down with a pint and work things out amicably. We’re not looking for special treatment, just a level playing field where we can work hard, play hard, and pursue the happiness that we deserve.

Beer is the only thing that can bring all of America together.

It’s your choice.
