References: The Friday after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year in the US. Don’t go out in it. To protect you from the horrorshow that is holiday shopping, I have made select Beer Haiku Daily merchandise available online! Yes, you too can shop for holiday gifts for the beer drinker you love in the privacy of your own home. Most shirts have the “Beer Haiku Daily” logo on the front with the “I Like Beer” phrase and picture on the back. I promise this will be the hip holiday gift this season.
Of course if you want to keep your beer haiku fetish under wraps but still want to get a nice gift, then check out the BHD Amazon Store. I have hand selected some nice gift choices for the beer lover and haiku lover in your life.
Enjoy the selections and forgive my crass attempt at commercialism. There’s not much money in Beer Haiku and I have a family to feed.
Cheers!

Thanks to the ancients
who took the first dare and drank
the wet spoiled grain

References: I’ve always wondered who invented/discovered beer. What made them drink that first glop that was likely the result of water getting into their stash of grain or bread? Anyway… Thanks.
Sources on the origin of beer: The First Brew Recipe, Wikipedia: The History of Beer.
Here’s another interesting little factoid for today: They say there was no beer at the first Thanksgiving. It’s not that the pilgrims were against beer, it’s because they had run out before they made landfall. It’s one of the reasons they stopped when/where they did.
Cheers and Thanks!
